Acquisition process
The acquisition system is composed of a base, a dome illuminator and a digital camera (Fig .1). A series of reference holes on the base enables to change the relative rotation between the camera and the granite tile. The current version supports the same set of rotation angles used in Outex: 0°, 5°, 10°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75° and 90°.

To retain a sampling are common to all the rotation angles, the original images - the resolution of which is 1024 x 768 - are cropped with a centered window of dimension 544 x 544, as shown here.
